“Air Force 1 – Anatomy Of An Urban Legend” Trailer
August 12th, 2010
“The Air Force 1 is Nike’s best seller and most popular all-time shoe. It evolved from being worn on court in the 1980s into an off-court icon. Even today, almost three decades later, it’s still revered in sneaker culture. Its iconic, timeless design still boasts strong sales around the world to this day. From limited edition styles, to special design collaborations, the style is kept fresh and unexpected with each drop. Nike has helped maintain excitement in the Air Force 1 by introducing over 1700 models with different colorways and material combinations since its birth.
“Air Force 1: The Anatomy of an urban Legend” is a feature-length documentary about Nike’s Air Force 1, a 29-year old basketball shoe turned NYC style staple, turned cultural icon, turned global phenomenon. The film traces the roots of the Air Force 1 and documents its rise, presenting a unique case study in the history of design, sports, and culture.”
Can’t wait to see this!

NIKE78 x W+K Tokyo “ABUKU”
June 9th, 2010
“What you can see from the relationship between a goldfish and air in this microcosm, a shoe, is the human society and the microcosm that contains it. It’s the relationship between the earth/nature and creatures, and the correlation between athletes and NIKE, who contributes to the characteristics of the human body by giving air to shoes. That is the thinking behind the name of this art piece, the ABUKU (Japanese “BUBBLE”).”

K1X x Patrick Mohr
January 24th, 2010
Vanguard street-fashion designer Patrick Mohr has exclusively designed and reinterpreted the “DCAC” sneaker silhouette for basketball brand K1X. The shoe will undergo an inaugural introduction at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin, January 2010.
The Patrick Mohr vs. K1X sneaker is all black and consists fully of leather – even the laces. Graphic shapes are Patrick Mohr’s trademark. Therefore the shoes’ exteriors are marked with an imprint in the form of multiple triangles. A distinct characteristic of the sneaker is the wooden triangle which is located on the shoes’ tongue and also doubles as an accessory. The individuality of the shoe is completed by an innovative leather strap which is attached to the upper side of the rear part of the shoe. It can be fixed to the ankle or lower leg or be worn as a wrist-accessory.

Marcus Troy x Nike Bespoke Air Force 1 ($820)
January 12th, 2010
Blogger Marcus Troy recently took a visit to Nike’s 21 Mercer space in New York City to create his own one of one Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke. The shoe took a few weeks to complete as it was constructed using a number of different materials including kevlar, waterproof denim, suede, leather, and Loopwheeler cotton lining. The shoe features a black, grey, and turquoise colourway. These are one of the best AF1’s I’ve seen in a minute. Think it’s time for me to head over to the States!
