Running & Reading (The Keys to Life)
January 13th, 2008
Right now there is nobody inspiring me like Will Smith. I'm telling you, I've been watching all his interviews and doing a lot of research on the guy. "The person who works the hardest, Wins." Thanks to Par for the vid.
I would like to dedicate this to Guntur Dwiarmein.

Success Is My Destiny - PLATINUM EDITION AF1’s
January 11th, 2008
The good folks at Nike iD invited me down to their Studios to design some complimentary AF1’s. I designed them to match the ‘Success Is My Destiny’ release. These are special one of ones. Non-before it, none to come. The picture on the computer screen isn’t the best so I’ll give you an explanation. I hit them with the Black patent leather accompanied by the Metallic Silver swoosh and tongue. The ‘Platinum Editions.’ There are more colorways I designed but I’m holding back – for now. Big Thanks to the Nike iD team.

DEPARTURES
January 3rd, 2008
What's good people. Ahhhhh man. My internet has been down all day today. It felt like someone stole part of my freedom for a minute. I guess thats the major affect the net has on our lives in this part of the World.
Anyway, this post is about a new magazine that I was featured in (December last year) called Departures - published by The Lounge Group. They touch on youth trends, marketing and brands of the future (Arrivals: this is the section where I come in) :)
They did a really good piece on T.Magic so check it out. Unfortunately the publication is not sold in stores. It's given to most design agencies which is a good look. Let these people know that you don't have to do things the conventional way to get on. Also google 'Beyond Disruction - changing the rules in the marketplace' by Jean-Marie Dru. Great book.
Big thanks to Alfred Tong & Tom Greatrex. More pics after the jump

When I first heard this song I wasn't feeling it. It took a minute to grow on me. I love the simplicity of the video. I found it quite funny aswell. The kids actually look like them. This piece was directed by VA$HTIE for the song Us Placers off Kanyes mixtape Cant Tell Me Nothing, using child versions of each artist. appearances by: Jamie, Plain Pat, Stephen SB WEAR Barr and Ruffy. The video was shot for the love of the song on zero budget! DOPE

Guys, pay close attention. Especially to Countdown 5 Lol.

Blue Magic Release
December 8th, 2007

Re-imagining fabric as a canvas, merging real substance and style in the process, the creative sew and sews at T.Magic strike again with innovative artistry. The Art Is My Hustle sweater, casual in mood but crafted with the expert of bespoke, keeps things crispy and colourful in the London fog with original flavour.
Balancing function and freshness, the attention to detail on this wearable piece of artwork focuses on the dye, wash and weave of thick, rich materials. Anyone can wear a solid black jumper. But only fashion-forward thinkers who can handle being the centre of attention are able to rock a fresh black sweat, dressed in a blood-red neck, dipped in a royal blue hem, with yellow and orange cuffs.
A fashion as well as a mission statement, in four words – Art Is My Hustle – T.Magic encapsulates the visual pulse that’s beating in our urban centres. Combining the artist’s classic values of sharp construction, bold colours, street culture and smart graphics, this limited-edition winter thread has three core components: comfort, utility and style to start your new year’s revolution with creative game.
With a T.Magic-signed poster on spot UV gloss finish included as part of the exclusive package and only 150 of these certified street heaters made worldwide, time isn’t on your side if you want in. Is an item cool because it’s hard to get, or is it hard to get because it’s cool? Philosophise when you’re dead. In the meantime, Savile Row, watch your back.

Kanye 02 Performance: One In A Billion
November 24th, 2007
Wooooooooooooooooow. Let me start off by saying that Kanye gave a performance of a lifetime. He did not let his fans down. He delivered at an extremely high level. Best concert I’ve ever experienced. Mary J Blige live in Las Vegas 06 was my best show until now (sounds crazy but she put on an amazing show).
Now, before I attempt to give my description of the show, I will also let you know about the dramas that we had trying to get in.
So, we get to the 02 Center at about 7.30pm and the show has already started (opening acts). The way we all rolled up to the front of the entrance you would have thought we had tickets. Well, the story on that was, my boy was meant to sort the tickets out but things got long. Then he was going to book two weeks before and the unfortunate death of his mom happened. After that we heard conflicting stories about weather Kanye was going to turn up or not. Back to regular schedule – So, we get to the door and my boy who is already there gives us the 411 that the Undercover Police were confer skating tickets from the touts. Please note that my boy had only one extra ticket, which meant we needed 3 more. Problem was that the ticket touts looked like the undercovers and vice versa. We’re running around trying to get eye contact and differentiate between the two. It wasn’t successful so I came up with a plan were we all split up (because a group of guys in bright colors wasn’t low-key to say the least). It worked. My boy got the tickets and we were in.
The show opened up to the intro of Stronger, which faded into Good Morning. “Wake up Mr. West, Mr. West…” Instantly tearing it down. He then went through all the classics. I think it was the third of forth song in when he performed the groundbreaking can’t Tell Me Nothing. He absolutely murdered it. The crowd erupted like crazy. Kanye shut it down with most of the songs the new album and some classics from the old including Through The Wire, Heard Em Say, Spaceship, Touch The Sky, Diamonds Are Forever, Golddiger and Jesus Walks. Let me add. Drunk and Hot Girls sounded incredible live.
When Kanye talks about making songs that are stadium I totally understands what he means. Every song had that stadium appeal and he will definitely go down as one of if not the best entertainer of our generation. REAL TALK.
There was an emotional point when Kanye performed Hey Mama. I definitely felt his pain. Me losing my biggest inspiration, idol and hero (my Mum) is the worst thing that could ever happen. R.I.P Donda West.
Kanye closed the night on an incredible with Stronger. 'Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger,' Let me add: His Cyclops sunglasses were fucking insane. They look like the red light that moves horizontally on the Night Ryder car. Dope.
I could go on forever about the show. Overall I commend Kanye for his emotion, effort and dedication that went into the show. For me, he is definitely the best all-rounded artist in the world right now. Hands down.
I you haven’t already, make sure you try and see one of his performances. It’s a true lifetime experience.

Jay-Z - Roc Boys (And The Winner Is)
November 6th, 2007
Jay-Z (one of my favorite MC's) is back with the second single for his lastest release 'American Gangster'. I must say the album is amazing apart from two songs (in my personal opinion). Its interesting the way he defines a Gangster. The intro to the album states "Your gangster is not defined by how low your jeans fall by your waist, but more how your genes stand over his expectations, never forget where you came from... Gangsterment allows you to make up your own laws and create brand new words..." For me that's pure genius.
Enjoy
