T.Magic x BASS Festival 2009
May 26th, 2009
MTV and RWD Magazine’s ‘About to Blow’ artist T.Magic has been commissioned by this year’s BASS (British Arts and Street Sounds) Festival to take his art to the streets of Leicester, as part of the month-long festival.
Throughout June, T.Magic will be using Leicester as the inspiration for a series of work for ‘Art is my Hustle’; a collection of dark social commentary on forgotten communities.
Through the power of an aerosol can, T.Magic aims to give a voice to impoverished communities, using powerful slogans such as ‘Respect is my Product’, ‘Success is my Destiny’ and ‘Colour is my Flava’. These infamous slogans and use of the Sinclair Spectrum (red, yellow, green and blue), seen throughout his work, will form the base of this new work.

On Wednesday I went to The Cardinal Wiseman School in Greenford, London to give a presentation on my 24-year T.Magic journey. It was a real success. I was glad to see how engaged the students were.
I guess I’ll let Sir Alain tell it… Full story after the jump.
A Big Thanks to Sir Alain Sama aka Teacha 4a Better Future and students of Cardinal Wiseman School.

Let me start off by thanking everyone who helped make this show a huge success. A special thank you to my mother (the biggest inspiration of my life). I would also like to thank the thousands of people/supporters who took time out to come down to the exhibition. It’s much appreciated.
Right now there is a lot of interesting things happening off the back of the show. Don’t worry, you guys will be the first to hear what’s up. Stay tuned.

Paul Insect Exhibition
September 12th, 2008

I managed to get down to the private viewing of the Paul Insect exhibition yesterday. What a show! My favourite piece had to be the ‘Skelenton Table Sculpture’. I also had the chance to meet him before the show… Great guy. Well done to Laz Inc for an exceptional event. More pics after the jump.
T.Magic Solo Exhibition September 2008
September 1st, 2008

“Loaded With Meaning” is an independent solo exhibition mounted by one of the UK’s most colourful talents, T.Magic. It takes place from September 26, 2008, until October 5, 2008, at The Loading Bay Gallery, Old Truman Brewery, London and features over forty new works consisting of original paintings, photography, sculptures and silk-screens.
Pieces in the show explore Magic’s dark social commentary. His theme: the London Council Estate. Drawing inspiration from experiences growing up in what the 24-year-old street artist describes as ‘The Black Hole,’ which he feels is a distinct and unknown territory isolated from the rest of society. “It’s a world of the displaced where no-one from outside enters and where the inhabitants stay; an area synonymous - in the public mind - with poverty, crime and ethnic conflict.”
A pivotal aspect of the self-proclaimed therapists works is the idea of escapism from such harsh realities. His unique style of art exalts in the power of colour, contrast and composition.
After two successful exhibitions at The Air Gallery in Mayfair - along with counting Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams as fans of his art - T.Magic’s work is internationally recognized as some of the most interesting and thought-provoking contributions to the contemporary art scene of recent times.

Lazarides Exhibitions
July 29th, 2008

What’s Up peeps?
Last Thursday I was invited to attend the opening of two new exhibitions at Lazarides. Been mad busy so I’m only just getting time to upload the pics.
The first exhibition was a solo show by artist Ben Turnbull and the other was a group show. Artist Antony Micallif works at the group show were absolutely jaw dropping. Every time I see his work (in the flesh) it inspires me to step my game up. All in all they put on good shows. Big shouts to the Remi and the Laz Team. Also to Q for taking the photos. Some good pics after the jump.

David Choe Exhibition
March 4th, 2008

Murderous Hearts, David Choe’s first solo exhibition in the UK, opened February 28th with a packed private viewing at Lazarides Gallery in London. I managed to make it down there and boy was I amazed. Choe had some really intersting pieces on display. He’s an artist that has been on my radar for a minute. Some of his art is a bit wierd (which is a good thing)and he uses a lot of female references with his work. His imagination and tecniques are really inspiring. More pics after the jump.
