Think Different Pt.2
January 22nd, 2008

Found this quite interesting. You could call it Origami (the art of paper folding). Not sure who the artist is but I liked what he/she did with all the different currencies. More pics after the jump.

Give a hand to wildlife - WWF Campaign
January 9th, 2008

Came across this piece of advertising the other day. Thought it was a clever way to promote giving a helping hand to the Wildlife - Not that I’ma part of that but hey. Love the fact that the thing you paint with, (your hand) becomes the canvas. Great execution. More pics after the jump.
DEPARTURES
January 3rd, 2008
What’s good people. Ahhhhh man. My internet has been down all day today. It felt like someone stole part of my freedom for a minute. I guess thats the major affect the net has on our lives in this part of the World.
Anyway, this post is about a new magazine that I was featured in (December last year) called Departures - published by The Lounge Group. They touch on youth trends, marketing and brands of the future (Arrivals: this is the section where I come in)
They did a really good piece on T.Magic so check it out. Unfortunately the publication is not sold in stores. It’s given to most design agencies which is a good look. Let these people know that you don’t have to do things the conventional way to get on. Also google ‘Beyond Disruction - changing the rules in the marketplace’ by Jean-Marie Dru. Great book.
Big thanks to Alfred Tong & Tom Greatrex. More pics after the jump

December 25th, 2007
This is a new world record for a pyramid created out of pennies, 289318 pennies to be exact. However this is not just a one off piece of money art but is a penny pyramid project with a lot more to come in the future.

Santas Ghetto In Bethlehem
December 20th, 2007

I know this news is a bit late but had to post it nevertheless. Santas Ghetto, the annual supermarket-art show created by Banksy and selling the works of fellow graffiti artists. The artists have set up shop in a former chicken shop on Manger Square in Bethlehem opposite the Church of the Nativity, and along the way have used the dividing West Bank security wall as an 8 meter high blank canvas which they have decorated with highly symbolical and provocative images. When I first heard the news I couldn’t believe. It was a fucking brilliant and brave idea. There was a lot of mixed feeling about it, but when you go aganist the grain there normally is.
The ghetto extends over three floors and incorporates the work of more than 30 artists. Among them Souleiman Mansour, Abed al Rohan Mousain, Sam 3, Ron English and Sir Peter Blake. Artists from Ramallah, Gaza and Bethlehem’s Dehaisha refugee camp are well represented. Others have come from as far afield as Washington DC, Madrid and East Sussex.
A message from Santas Ghetto: ‘We would like to make it very clear Santa’s Ghetto is not allied to ANY race, creed, religion, political organization or lobby group. As an organisation the only thing we’ll say on behalf of our artists is that we don’t speak on behalf of our artists. This show simply offers the ink-stained hand of friendship to ordinary people in an extraordinary situation’.

CRS (Lupe, Pharrell & Kanye) - US Placers
December 20th, 2007
When I first heard this song I wasn’t feeling it. It took a minute to grow on me. I love the simplicity of the video. I found it quite funny aswell. The kids actually look like them. This piece was directed by VA$HTIE for the song Us Placers off Kanyes mixtape Cant Tell Me Nothing, using child versions of each artist. appearances by: Jamie, Plain Pat, Stephen SB WEAR Barr and Ruffy. The video was shot for the love of the song on zero budget! DOPE
