Just got the heads up about this design that looks exactly like some of my artwork. The funny thing is my last exhibition (Loaded With Meaning, Sept 08) was held at the same place with the same landlords (The Truman Old Brewery) that help put this event together… Interesting!

    gotta face it!
    That comes with success.

    Keep doing your thing!

  4. Sam

Whoever designed it needs a slap in the face. They didn’t even put their own twist on it. How dumb.

  5. Xman

    copycats should die

  6. Jakes

Everyone gets inspired but shit!… At least try and make it your own.

  7. Kane

    I guess it’s the T-Magic Effect!

  8. Dicey

Fuck Free Range and whoever designed it

Hey guys, no need to insult anyone. We all know Tmagic innovates not imitates.

  10. Cboy

That’s how u know T-Magic is BIG! I bet everyone starts copying him.

  11. Specs

This is funny. The whole comment board sounds like a bunch of Koopas lol.

Jokes aside, I get the point. Copying a well know artist isn’t going to get you anywhere.

  12. Fidle

    Thats wack of them!

  13. Wan

All these big companies don’t have a clue and enjoy ripping off cool peoples idea.

  14. Cboy

    @ Specs, Lol

Broken Windows – more like Broken Eggs!

    The Yolks on them….

  16. Mitesh

They even copied the way you do your lettering…

  17. Vicks

    Lol

  18. S.L

No harm. We all know the originator!

  19. Will

Funny. I saw this and thought you had something to do with it.

  20. No offense but your not the first and not the last to use this phsychadelic style with the lines, and wont be the last…might jus be a co-insidence you never know, thetre is alot of artists that use this style it seems to be coming more common latley…

^ I agree. BUT the geometric rays used in his work is synonymous with his style and when I look at that design I instantly think ‘T.Magic’

Before the MTV Base footage in 07 they were hardly any people with t-shirt lines. After that video everyone and their mother had a clothing line. Everyone trying to use bright colours like T.Magic… Was he the first to use bright colours? No. But after he did people copied. That’s called having influence on culture my friend.

    Case closed

  22. Mitesh

    Well put Liam. Totally agree!

  23. Ramo

It’s true, after Tmagic every1 had a clothing line lol. Where are they now?

  24. Cboy

birchy – I get your point but c’mon. Tell me you don’t look at that and think T-Magic!

  25. Anton

T Magic wasn’t the first and will not be the last to use the rays and colour but he’s one of very few artists/designers that has branded himself so well that it has become something of his own.

I went down there to check it out, and i was surprised at how good some of the work was! The only thing that had anything to do with your work was the ‘Free range’ logo. I doubt they were cattin your style..

  27. anton put it best to my post
you really cant say people started up tee shirt lines because of tmagic….most brands in streetwear i know of were abotu before him….alot more kick off around the same time because of promotion tools like myspace and how everybody and theyr cousins think they can ‘design’
it does remind me of t magic…but i dotn think ‘oh wow they copied him’
i think alot of people on this blog do ‘ass-lick’ a bit too much and take it over the top?
props to him though…im not hating before anybody starts lol

  28. Liam

What I meant Birchy were so-called clothing lines in the U.K. Name me 10 indie U.K. Streetwears brands before 2007?

Saying people lick ass here is your opinion which your entitled to. I wouldn’t consider myself an ass licker but I am a T-Magic Die-Hard and loyal fan.

  29. Vee

    Nice debate!

well, your artwork remind me a lot of the old activision games for the atari 2600 back in the eighties … which i see as positive … no worries!
